Freedom from Leaks - iMEDicare Charitable Challenge - ALL EU Peaks by 2030

Freedom from Leaks

iMEDicare – Pelvic Health Naturally are on a mission !

Our aim is to improve social and exercise mobility for people suffering from urinary incontinence.

You can learn more about understanding the stigma and impact on social mobility of urinary incontinence here:

“The stigma of incontinence is a serious issue. Stigma creates stress, and then worsens people’s ability to deal with the stressful situation. It can lead people to stop living their normal lives, leaving the house, and going about their day-to-day activities, causing them to become isolated and withdrawn. This might mean they are less active, in turn causing greater physical and mental health issues. It can also remove people from their social support networks, cutting them off from people who can help.”

Urinary incontinence (UI) is often (but not always) a geriatric syndrome that inhibits the maintenance of life-space mobility and its subsequent activities. Spaltenstein et al. indicated that older adults who experienced UI showed a 33 % lower odds ratio of going outdoors compared with those who did not.

Oftentimes the solution to enhanced social and exercise mobility is just knowing which device helps reliably in which social or mobility scenario – and how to access a reliable supply. Learn more about our male options here especially useful if you are suffering from Post Prostatectomy Stress Urinary Incontinence – however devices like Afex Core and Men’s Liberty can be applied to any incontinence context.

So what are we doing about it?

Since 2022 – iMEDicare has been raising funds for charitable organizations by climbing the national peaks of a number of European Nations. So far we have claimed the highest national peaks of Scotland, Wales, Ireland, England, Poland and on August 25th 2024, we climbed Mt Mytikas in Greece – better known as Mount Olympus – home of the 12 Olympian Greek Gods. In May 2025 we will add Mt Teide:

Mount Teide, is a volcano on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain. Its summit is the highest point in Spain and the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic.

Elevation: 3,715 m

Last eruption: 18 November 1909

Prominence: 3,718 m

Coordinates: 28°16′23′′N 16°38′22′′W / 28.27306°N 16.63944°W

First ascent: 1582

Later on in August 2025, we will seek to capture the tallest peaks of Belgium / Holland and Denmark (all very modest challenges) before scaling the tallest peak in Germany:

At 2,962 metres, the Zugspitze is Germany's highest mountain. Threatened ice worlds: Zugspitze is home to one of Germany's last glaciers – but the “eternal ice” on the Zugspitze is also acutely threatened by climate change.

Before venturing over to Czechoslovakia to capture Sněžka (Polish: Śnieżka), is the Czech Republic's highest natural point with an elevation of 1,603 metres (5,259 ft).

However, we’ve decided to go further and aspire to climb the national peak of EVERY EU nation by 2030 all in favour of our three favourite charitable concerns:

In no particular order:

Tackle Prostrate Cancer

Bladder Health Uk

 Just Giving

It means we still have 4.5 years to climb the tallest national peak in each of the remaining EU Nations after completing the above:

Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.

So, open your purse, and fire some pennies to the amazing charities above. Our precious earth is amazing and folks with incontinence need the confidence and means to explore it too.
